Our Mission:
Schiff Summer Nature Programs for Kids will provide children with opportunities to play, explore and learn together while developing a sense of community, self-confidence and an appreciation for the natural world.

What We Offer:

  • Experienced adult science teachers
  • A 1:10 teacher to child ratio
  • Lessons designed to motivate and inspire your child
  • Almost 800 acres of forest and meadow
  • 14 miles of hiking trails to explore and discover
  • Recycled craft projects to promote environmental awareness

Morning Sessions: 9 am-12:30 pm
OR

Afternoon Sessions: 1:30-5:00 pm

Fees
$180 per week

Preschool Explorers (age 5) NEW!
July 1-3

An introduction to a summer at Schiff! We'll explore the pond, make leaf rubbings and mud paintings and learn what plants and animals live on the Preserve.

Animal Detectives

THE JULY 8 MORNING SESSION IS CLOSED

Animals are all around us, we just need to learn how to find them! We will use our senses to figure out who has been here and where they went.


Creepy Crawly Critters

July 15-19 OR August 12-16
THE MORNING SESSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

The "squirmy" and "icky" will quickly transform into the "fascinating" and "beautiful"! Tracking down spiders, dragonflies and other insects, we'll also learn a lot about the health of the environment.


Outdoor Adventures

All of the classic Schiff favorites, including shelter building, trips to the creek, wineberry jam making, plus some new adventures at the Preserve. Perfect for children new to Schiff or those that have loved our previous programs!

Parents will enjoy an art show at the end of the week, which will be displayed in the Nature Center for the rest of the summer!

THIS SESSION IS CLOSED

In this new elective, your child will learn how to identify the plants and animals that call this region home! We will also explore how these organisms work together and all the ways to appreciate and help protect them.

Teen Naturalists
August 5-9

For our older naturalists! Bluebird monitoring, plant-based dyes, tree identification and an outdoor service project.


Ecosystem Services

August 12-16

Learn the true work of the landscape: by the end of the week, you will learn about nutrient cycling, plant-based medicine, watershed modeling and much more.
